The Human Proteome Map (HPM) is a mass spectrometry-based draft map of the human proteome from Johns Hopkins University and the Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore. It reports protein expression from over 290,000 non-redundant peptide identifications covering products of more than 17,000 human genes across 30 histologically normal tissues and cell types (17 adult tissues, 7 fetal tissues and 6 primary hematopoietic cells). The raw data are deposited in PRIDE as PXD000561. The portal has not been updated since its 2014 release and some of its pages are broken.

The Human Proteome Map (HPM) presents the results of the draft map of the human proteome project (Kim et al., Nature 2014), led by Akhilesh Pandey’s group at Johns Hopkins University with the Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore. Samples from 30 histologically normal human tissues and primary cells were analyzed by high-resolution Fourier transform mass spectrometry on Orbitrap instruments.
The portal reports direct evidence of translation for products of over 17,000 genes, more than 84% of annotated human protein-coding genes, from over 290,000 non-redundant peptides.
When checked on 2026-10-04, the portal still responded, but its pages carried injected spam links and its Browse and Spectral Library pages returned HTTP 404. The PRIDE deposition is the stable copy of the raw data.
